So yesterday I had another doctor’s appointment and I am now 3cm dilated and 70% effaced which means I am progressing along pretty well. I will be 39 weeks on Friday (which is also a full moon) so I am about one week away from my “due date”. The Dr said that baby is pushing 8lbs right now and she is concerned that she will be too big for me to deliver if we wait too long. All that to say, an induction (or what I like to call an “eviction from the womb”) is scheduled for July 28 if she does not make her appearance before then. It is crazy to think she will FINALLY be here no matter what in just a few days! Pray that she comes naturally before the induction because inducing does carry some risks and I’d rather not take that route unless necessary. I have been walking a lot and eating pineapple in hopes that some old wives tales might progress things along. Let me know if you have any other suggestions….and no I’m not going to drink Castor Oil…that’s where I draw the line! =)

Oh wow! How exciting that by July 28th you’ll get to meet your daughter!! Oh, I just thought of something. You should listen to the song “Daughter” by Loundon Wainwright III. It was at the end of Knocked Up and it’s such a sweet song.
Hmmm…to help bring on labor and avoid induction….maybe you could have your membranes stripped? I’ve heard that works sometimes?

Hope about cabbage soup. Believe or not, several of my friends had eaten Mom’s cabbage and vegetable soup and went into labor 2 days later, as I did.too. Greg was born on a full moon, 4 days before the due date.

Spaghetti always worked for my mom…..my Dad used to ‘threaten’ me with a spaghetti dinner when I’d get past my due date! Praying for a safe and healthy delivery. I did all 4 of mine totally drug-free!
